Principal's Message

May 28, 2024

Dear Emerson Families,

As we come to the end of the 2023-2024 school year, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all the ways you have supported Emerson Elementary. Your participation in the school study process is another example of why I continue to be impressed with the support from the entire Emerson community. Community engagement and support makes Emerson a special place for all of us to be.

Students, here is your summer homework. While you are enjoying your break, keep working on academic tasks. Read, read, and keep reading! This is the best thing we can do to maintain our skills. Find fun ways to include math calculation and problem solving in your daily activities. Science is all around us. Make observations and ask questions about things in nature we see every day. Write about your summer experiences. Keep a journal or write a letter to your principal. Be creative! Most of all, enjoy your time with the people you love doing the things you love to do.

Sadly, our International Pathways program is moving which means we have educators who will not be returning to Emerson next year. We will miss Ms. Morey, Ms. Ostos, Ms. Borell, and Ms. Jensen as they move on to other schools. We wish Ms. Oland-Wong all the best as she begins her retirement adventure. We appreciate these educators and their kindness and excellence in teaching at Emerson. They will be missed.

Finally, thank you to the entire Emerson community for your school engagement this year. Attendance at our community events and support in classrooms is evidence of your investment in your children and reinforces my belief that our amazing students and families remain the best thing about Emerson Elementary.

Get out there and share your awesomeness!

Happy summer,

April M. Reynolds
